They got me a Plextor PX-716A DVD burner for my birthday, completely without me saying a word. Woooo Wooooooooo!!!!!! Damn right...

Me mum and dad took me to dinner at The Wild Ginger, Choki got me a delightful Sushi lunch today, etc etc etc....

You can send him some copied movies. (you'll find this program invaluable) Just make sure the MPAA surveillance chopper has already done its hourly fly-by.

Oh, btw - a word about media.

DVD+R9s are still tooexpensive to burn so I wouldn't even think about those right now. If you are interested in doing 16X burns you should check out this wonderful site. There will be info there on what discs will burn 16X with your burnar. It is also the best site for firmware updates, etc.

With my NEC I swear by Taiyo Yuden T02s 8X +Rs. Rima.com has always had the best price (Item#1733) and they are in my hands within a week. I would recommend against just going to Office_Blank_ and buying a spindle. Name brands rotate through a number of OEM disc makers so one spindle may be Yuden 8Xs and the next might be RiDatas that won't spin past 4X.

A lot of this conversation was had back in teh Fall.
