Potential Darwin award nominee or savvy invester? There's a story at MMOG Hell where a player paid $26,500 US dollars to buy a virtual island in the massively multiplayer game world of Project Enthropia:
You have read right, the final bid in this first auction was 265 000 PED (Project Enthrophia Dollars) which convert to 26,500 US Dollars. The lucky winner Zachurm "Deathifier" Emegen can now lay taxes on those who live or pass his island and earn back some money.
This virtual "Treasure Island" spans 25 square kilometers, and includes a unique castle built on it and areas for hunting and mining. Deathifier is also able to sell one of 60 parts of his island to other players.
