First of all it took 12 days to get here, and it was sopping wet when it finally arrived.
Well the insides were dry, so i went ahead and installed the chip
OK, Ive been doing this long enough to know how to apply a heat sink.
So the bad boy was running at 150F, that is until my system locked up... Long story short, and 2 heat sinks later...
I noticed my core voltage was 1.85, a little strange... then i found this.

Even if i set it correctly to 1.65 it still runs hot as hell, and locks up running doom3.IIRC, to make a 2500+ think it's a 3200+, you modify the L12 bridges. So look there.
I sent it back to Micro Direct and they say "We are testing it" my reply was change it as I paid a 400FSB processor and I soddin want one...the clincher Chris said was the default 1.85 voltage Core setting.Arthur
I also bet that the thing was getting rather hot running at that speed, with that core voltage and it may have been shutting down to heat build-up..
Well doesn't get any clearer than that... those fuxors!
