It's times like this that I'd never playing the fuX0ring game because of the lack of proper controls for it. FuX0rs to playing FPSes with a gamepad. I don't care how cool the game itself is. If the controls are cumbersome, it loses half the immersion right there. The reason I like good FPSes on the PC is that you forget about the controls after a while because they fit in your two hands properly, and are very responsive. When I aim or look at something in real life, I don't overshoot by ten feet because of some acceleration algorithm.
And it's chowdah frenchie!!!!!

I concur, playing any FPS with a gamepad is like eating soup with a fork. And if I didn't have so much fun with the first Halo, I wouldn't even bother with the second one. It took me about a year after the first halo came out just to try it for the first time because I was so adamant about using the damn gamepad.

More like eating rice with a fork... but yeah I definitely agree. In fact... I have never really played the first Halo. Sure a bit of multiplayer... but never single player. But you know... baseball cards. I'll play this one a bit, since it is new and there's so much hype.
I think it may be pretty difficult to find too many people that prefer controller over mouse+kb for 1st person shooters.

Nevertheless, there are those who happily go on eating their soup with forks. (Sometimes with those inverted forks that move up when you try to make them move down.)
I did play all the way through single player Halo 1 and as much as I liked the game, I still hated every minute of slowly aiming and moving with the monstrous, unwieldly first-run Xbox controller...

agreed.... I pretty much write off any console fps because the mouse & kb is a golden formula that cant be matched.
...but this just came out... which might be cool to check out:
either way... I'm still gonna check out Halo2 because it's been hyped up so much.
