Back from the Phoenix Festival

Post by Bill Drayton Jr. »

I camped here just a little off to the right behind the barn for 4 days - it was amazing...

Mount Adams was always visible and there were hardly any clouds. The weather was sunny the whole time yet it never got too hot. The nights were cool but not cold so I wore shorts the whole time.

The people were actually really cool and friendly so I met a lot of them. I was part of a camp with about 20 other people from Seattle it was the second largest non-festival related camp in the whole place that I saw. The biggest was some kind of home made PVC geodesic dome tent the size of a house.

There were seven stages and most all of them were using Mackie and some JBL and sounded very clean.

I continued my recent "moderation" trend and turned down a lot of stuff and never got out of control although I got close to the edge once. The place was like zombo.com though - you could get anything you wanted there. There was all the standard stuff plus some things I hadn't even heard about and within our camp a couple people were doing something I would never do... I did have 3/4 of a beer though on the 14th day from abstaining from alcohol. I did it mostly because I was having trouble sleeping - like most people. I slept maybe 8 hours total the entire time and thought that maybe a beer and some sleeping pills would put me under - it didn't work. I Am going to continue to not drink now though mainly for weight loss. Even with switching to a high carb diet of MREs, oatmeal, and meal replacement shakes(from Atkins) I lost nearly 5lbs bringing me down to 178lbs & 34" waist since July 1st.

Overall it was the best experience I have ever had at one of these things although it will be difficult to find something like this again but I am hoping that this one will be comparably as cool...

HEE HEE... Glad you had fun, you neo-hippy-festivaleer!!! I had more fun though!!! :D You'll have to come up to Hat with us next time we go. We're thinking of going back up in the 2 weeks from now-ish timeframe. We'll catch fresh seafood on boat, get silly, ride ATV. (The island roads are all dirt, there are some crazy hills, and some sand pits to drive around in. There are some nice drift-wood packed beaches to play on. etc. etc. etc. I'm thinking either mush or smokitude would be a good thing to have whilst there.

that sounds pretty cool...I'm still planning on not drinking though and I was not too responsible and didn't bring back any mush...I had no money. There was a lot of it there and one guy was actually a chocolatier and had some "professionally" made ones in the form of different flavored truffles.

I wouldn't take the chocolates. I have to see the mush myself these days. Don't want to accidentally eat something that will dissolve my liver. The smokosity would be just as good though for a relaxing hang out on the beach type of thing.

That sounds very cool 12icks0r! Good work on the moderation as well. You are a steronger man than me, cause during these type of things I tend to go pretty silly. :wasted:

I still have...

Post by N3ur0n0saurusl2exs0r!!! »

some very strong mush...I bought 2 1/8ths and did only one...I had a life changing experience on the last 1/8th. So much so that I just look at what I have now and think that I probably shouldnt' do them because of how far gone I was at the last party. I've done my share of mushrooms but the last bit I had was like zombo.com...it was permanently life altering...

Oh and I may have had my share of Hat island. I've done my part. I've done a lot. I put a lot of effort into the initial cultivation of what could begin as a beautiful relationship between me and her. But she needs to take action now. I won't do anything anymore. It's all up to her...and obviously as of late she is either waiting for me to do something (which I believe is totally the case) or is not interested in me whatsoever (there is no way this is true...she is just not outgoing enough and is leaving it up to me to further things which will not ever happen unless I am privy to otherwise obstructed information)

Then again, I am a bad person...Life should suffer teh l2icks0r! for he is undeserving of such tainted purity... hehe
