Trying to understand what the fuck I am doing...

Post by Bill Drayton Jr. »

How the fuck I did I get myself into the situation I am currently in...

Is peer pressure really that powerful? I dunno...

What the fuck would possess a person to get up in front of a couple hundred people dressed in a skin tight fucking Lyrcra wrestling singlet which accentuates the cock, balls, and ass while demonstrating your strength as a fucking bench presser? I think this may be pretty fucking ridiculous. I can't bench what most of the guys in this fucking bench press competition are going to be fucking doing! WTF! There are at leat 5 guys that are going to be over the 500lb mark.... I am confident I will hit 260 but that is a far cry from 500... of course these guys weigh a lot more than me... anyway it's just a couple days away.... Wish me luck...

At the gym I used to go to there was a guy who had such big knotty pectoral muscles that they pulled his back and shoulders completely out of shape so that he was a big-breasted hunchback.

Occasionally he used to sidle over to me when I was bench pressing to 'assist' me when I was struggling with the bar. It's hard to scream "Fuck off you horrible FREAK!" when you're right at the very edge of your physical power.
Oh shit

I made all of my attempts but I underestimated my strength... I hit 250 but it was too easy...kind of pissed off I didn't go for more but oh well... only about 1/3 of the lifters made it to their fourth lift like I did but I fucking had 260 in me easy...next time...

So Rick, you are some kind of professional weight lifter now? What are the prizes?

I got a medal but I didn't win any money.

When I think about why I did it now it's like having the choice of either doing nothing but sleeping in late or winning a medal in a bench press competition - I would rather have a medal than the sleep.

It was kind of funny actually - there were others that I knew that knew about the meet but didn't think they were strong enough to enter so they didn't - I didn't care if I lost so why not just do it...

I was on that Atkins diet for awhile and got down to 159lbs from my post injury beer drinking, couch lying & potato chip diet weight of 194lbs in about 10 weeks with <20g of carbs a day and 30+ minutes of cardio 5 days a week... but now I am on the "eat everything that has tons of fucking carbs in it plus eat everything else in sight diet" and I am at a nice and healthy 178lbs @ 12% bodyfat.

A 250lb press is attainable by anyone about 155lbs+ that would be willing to spend 8-10 weeks training.

I can do 260lbs but haven't done it in a competition. I am going to probably enter another competition in May in Pasco Washington but they use these bench press shirts that give you a certain elastisicly augmented advantage and I should hit 300-315 by that time... The competition I entered in was a RAW competition that doesn't allow bench press shirts....

I work out at Eastside gym...

licksor: congrats on the "new you" and the new medal. Just out of curiousity, how tall are you?

I'm at about the same weight and body fat% as you (I'm about 6'1"), but I don't go to the gym with enough consistency (anyone who's seen my waif-like physique can confirm).

12% body fat. Hahaha, you must look like Afghan goats.

A gentleman needs at least 25%.
Oh shit
