reminds one of this: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Y2KkGFuRLew&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Y2KkGFuRLew&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Yes, it does remind one of that. Or mind one of that in my case, as I hadn't been minded of it before. Glad to have been minded of it though, because it's pretty cool. Thanks for the minding!

Also, this thing
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0jyBiECoS3Q&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0jyBiECoS3Q&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

One day, not too long from now, Tom Selleck will be attacked by several of these in an elevator...

I think you're thinking of the Red Baron... Not Tom Selleck...

As for the video, the tune sounds vaguely like A Warm Place (NIN.)

They should have spent a bit more time making the robot more agile in motion, instead of all the articulation for angular movement. It's quite slow to move forward. (unless they just don't show it moving quickly)

Heh, wait wait wait...moving forward(like the first two) isn't even that interesting as the last one...the first two ain't even in the fuckin ballpark neither, they aren't in the same league, they ain't even in the same fuckin sport!

Seriously though, it looks like it's just a speed issue in the last one because they have to have some kind of a realtime 3D IK solver to do the articulation where the mandible stays level as the rest of the body or thorax moves independently. The first one moves in 2D like a tank, and the second one looks one dimensional.

I think it would be kind of freaky if that spidery thing was faster and you heard it tap with each step as it came towards you...could probably jump too if the servo motors(?) were strong enough...

This is barely related but funny:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/p2HipedgM3I&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/p2HipedgM3I&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And barely related to that:

Oh, I'm also more impressed overall by the movement of that one, but I'd want it to walk faster if it were mine.

I'm more interested in Whitman, Rice, and Hadad. You remember them right?

Wow, I would never have been able to remember their names. I was barely able to remember the Icy Hot Stuntaz... Still amazes me how out of touch they were(are?) So ridiculous. When I think of Icy hot I think of:

I used to use it back in the day for lifting. It has the same ingredients as Bengay except Bengay has camphor too in addition to menthol and methyl salicylate.

So...instead of the icy hot stuntaz how about the:

BENGAY BALLAZ!!!

With RAZOR, BURN, and ZERO CELSIUS!!!

Zero Celsius could just go by ZC too...

I went back and watched HAKCERS the other day and was quite disappointed to discover there wasn't nearly as much rollerblading as I remembered. Still a stellar movie though.
