DOS version of Flashback ported to the DS:
http://gpf.dcemu.co.uk/REminiscenceDS.shtml

Check out the right pane of this site for DS apps, games, emus, etc:
http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/

Hexen and Heretic have been ported to the DS. I'm going to whirl them when I get home. That Flashback port is fracking incredible. Sound isn't implemented yet, but everything else is. Give it a whirl.

Also, Another World was ported to GBA, is available for free, and it was done by the original author, the Grand Chahi!!! Go here for that:

Oh, also on the subject of good stuff: AMD just cut their prices on all CPUs. I guess that average cut for the X2s is between 8% and 20%. Put that nice paying job of yours to use, and pick you up some working hardware. :D Perhaps sell the 6800GTs, and pick up an X2, 7800GT, and BFG Moblaster motherboard.

Oh, and don't forget:
http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com/

SCUMMVM for DS. It looks like a new version was just released.

Admiral: Would you be willing to donate around $20 along with me to go toward an M3 for a DS dev? He's the one doing the C64 emu, and the Flashback Reminiscence port. It seems he's low on cash, can't really get much further without being able to test his code, but willing to work on these until they are working well. I'm trying to gather funds for an M3. I can do $20-$30, so if you can, and perhaps one more person, or him for that matter, and we've got it.

He's also developed a file-system for the DS that uses the flash device more like an HDD, which is good for loading and saving data properly, and a bunch of other nifty things.

I ordered a cheap 140X CF card, so that should solve my Another World problems. :D It's a TwinMOS 512MB 140X card, and was only $30 at NewEgg. It's not on the compatibility list one way or the other on the M3 page, so hopefully it will work. It says that it's fully CF compliant, and fully IDE compliant, so I would assume that it would work. I'm going to look around and see if I can find any comments about it. If not, it was cheap, and I can use it in a camera or something.

Very nice! Not much of a GBC player these days, but the G6/M3 news is quite good indeed! When you get a chance drop a bloody tenner in that Paypal donation on GPF's page. (I dropped in a bleedin' twenty-fiver.) Then he'll get himself an M3 or SuperCard, and get the sound working on the C64 emu and the Flashback port. He's got some other cool projects going as well. Make sure you click the big link on the right side of his page, and not the little one on the top-bar that's to pay for the hosting of the DCEmu site.

Seems as though there is a M3 mini SD, in the works. I assume that it would be completely flush with the DS.

Also, In other news:

Japan is going CRAZY over the Nintendo DS Lite and the little units are selling out everywhere!

I shall grab them tonight. About time that damned Metroid game came out. This may be the first Metroid game that I actually play for a significant amount of time. Not that I thought the other ones were bad in any way, I just never got the exposure to the series early on like everyone else on the planet. I'll probably end up going back and playing the others some day. I bet I'd like the 2D ones better anyway. They look Turricanish (or rather Turrican is Metroidal.) :D Anyway...

It appears that the e16 firmware was to blame with my woes! I tried to revert back to e14, but id died during the flash operation.

Aparently they say its a hardware problem, and are fixing it for me, but i have to mail it back to china!

Lame.

Yeah, I dealt with them a bit during my Another World problem. I had less language problems though, and more "they didn't believe what I was telling them" problems.

"don't kidding me. whajoodoo with the battery?" came to mind.

Finally I proved that I was right, and they thanked me for the information. (only took about 6 emails though)
